Our History
The Agricultural Machinery Dealership of James Gervais was established in 1959 when James
who up to this time had worked in his home village of Clogher as a mechanic in "Johnston's of Clogher" purchased a field
on the edge of the village of Beragh eleven miles from Clogher where he built a workshop. Over the years through hard
work and careful management he built up a sales and service business adding the then popular brands of Pierce, MIL, Bamlett,
British-Lely, Vicon and David Brown tractors.
In 1971 his former employer asked him to rent and subsequently purchase the workshop and spare parts
store of Johnston's of Clogher.
In 1974 the Zetor Tractor agency was added to the business and in 1983 the Deutz tractor agency
was added to replace the David Brown agency which had been transferred to the local IH dealership when Case-IH was set up.
Over the years consoldation in the agricultural machinery industry resulted in many famous
brands and large distributors disappearing or being absorbed by larger companies but we are thankful that we have maintained
our presence as a family business for over 45 years in no small part due to the support of local customers some
of whom have being doing business with us since the business started in 1959. In recent years the addition of top brand names
such as Taarup, Kverneland, Hardi and Major have allowed us to offer some of the best agricultural equipment on the market
to our customers.
